Most ACE inhibitors do not interact with digoxin to a clinically relevant extent. Some studies have found that serum digoxin levels rise by about 20% or more if captopril is used, but others have found no significant changes. It has been su ested that any interaction is likely to occur only in those patients who have pre-existing renal impairment. Digitoxin and captopril appear not to interact. [Pg.904]

A study in 12 healthy subjects given digitoxin 70 micrograms daily for up to 58 days found no evidence that the addition of captopril 25 mg daily had a relevant effect on the pharmacokinetics of digitoxin, or its effects on the heart. ... [Pg.904]

No interaction apparently occurs between digitoxin and captopril in healthy subjects, but this needs confirmation in patients. [Pg.904]
