Capacitors precautions

While making a capacitor unit, the same precautions would be mandatory as discussed in Section 25.5.1 for... [Pg.814]

Although the manufacture of PCB-filled capacitor units has been discontinued, for older installations some may still be used. For the benefit of their users we give below the precautions that they must take when handling these units ... [Pg.838]

Retroactive Effects on the Power Electronics. The operating modes of electrorheological actuators are classified into three types flow mode (or valve mode), shear mode and squeeze mode. The former two modes do not exhibit any retroactive effects, whereas the squeeze mode can generate high voltages when the distance between the capacitor plates are altered quickly. When an actuator is operated in squeeze mode, extra precautions must be taken to protect the amplifier from damage. [Pg.277]

Sources of electrical energy (accumulators, capacitors and generators) are exempt from this requirement, but precautions must be taken to prevent danger. [Pg.427]
