Stage I The endothermal dehydration of calcium acetate monohydrate occurs giving rise to the anhydrous salt. It is easily noticed by an endothermal band on DTA curve between 200°C and 250°C.

In a review by Harris, properties of some sohd pharmaceuticals are obtained through the measurement of chemical shifts in MAS—NMR experiments [114]. For example, the number of molecules per asymmetric unitin calcium acetate monohydrate is obtained from CP/MAS, and the detection of the nature of hydrogen bonding is given for cortisone acetate by observing spinning sidebands in CP/MAS.
