Brunner-Emmett-Teller

Specific surface area was measured by the N2-BET (Brunner-Emmett-Teller) method on a Micromeritics ASAP2400 automatie adsorption meter. Samples were pretreated in a muffle furnace at 573 K for 1 h. The sample in system was outgassed at 523 K for 4 h, then, cooled down in liquid nitrogen. Nitrogen adsorption isotherms were recorded for BET calculation. [Pg.352]

Applying the Brunner, Emmett and Teller (BET) method to pharmaceuticals, whether ingredients or finished products, is of common use in powders for the determination of their specific area and pore sizes. However, generally, the operator has a reasonable amount of substance in hands and most often this material is relatively resistant to water vapor and can be manipulated without too many risks in the open space of a laboratory or, if needed, within a conventional glove box. [Pg.22]
