Cmrent knowledge about the goitrogenic effects of bromide, including some conclusions following from the results of om recent research on this subject, is summarized in this brief review. Since inorganic bromide is the ionic form of bromine which exerts therapeutic, as well as toxic effects, only studies that deal with exposme of experimental animals to bromide will form the basis of this review.
