British Dyestuffs Ltd

Subsequent British policy towards industry and state was heavily influenced by the experiences of the first two years of war. The lesson politicians derived from the shortage of ammunition, dyes and pharmaceuticals resulted in the decision that Britian never again would be dependent on other countries for war related products. The first step to secure production of war related chemicals was to combine chemical firms to form "British Dyestuffs Ltd." in 1916.
