Bridging methoxide

Various UV/Vis spectroscopic studies have been described by Reedijk and co-workers, aimed at identifying the proposed dicopper species with bridging methoxide and phenoxide ligands (compare 8) in the absence of neocuproine. Notion is made of two bands, appearing at 420 and 450cm which were attributed to the formation of /z-OMe and /z-phenoxo bridges, respectively. 

Each triangular face has a triply bridging methoxide ligand and a doubly bridging methoxide group is attached to each base. On the other hand, complexes of the type Cp Ln(Sal)3- and Cp Ln(fur)3 , where Ln = Nd, Yb, n = 1,2 Sal, salicyl aldehyde fur = furfuryl alcohol have been synthesized and found to be susceptible to disproportionation [131]. 

A DFT study of the cleavage of a DNA model, p-nitrophenyl methyl phosphate (47), and two RNA models, p-nitrophenyl 2-hydroxypropyl phosphate (48) and phenyl 2-hydroxypropyl phosphate (48 H for NO2), promoted by the dinuclear Zn(II) complex of l,3-bis(l,5,9-triazacyclododec-l-yl)propane formulated with a bridging methoxide (49), was undertaken to determine possible mechanisms for the tfansesterification processes that are consistent with experimental data. The cluster [Ru4(/t-OMe)(/t4-N)(CO)i2] with a bridging methoxide unit has been previously discussed (compound 13). The complex [Ru4(/t-MeCOO)4(CO)8(PBu3)2] is catalytically active in the hydrogenation of acetic acid and its role in this capacity has been further investigated. The tetranuclear complex [Ru4(/t3-OH)- fi-rf-(0)CEt (CF3S03)2(CO)8] 48 was isolated (Equation (37)) in a study of the catalytic properties of the water-soluble Ti7r -[Ru(OCOCF3)2(CO)3(H20)] and its derivatives. There are no RuRu bonds in 48 consistent with its 72 c.v.e. count.
