Bridged Aromatic Networks with Uncommon Electronic Structure

5 Bridged Aromatic Networks with Uncommon Electronic Structure [Pg.80]

In the quest to obtain polymers with unconventional electrical properties, several highly branched aromatic structures containing single-atom bridges were prepared. These are either carbon atom or nitrogen atom bridges. [Pg.80]

Building on the foundation of theoretical predictions [486-490] and experimental results on model compounds [491-494], highly branched organic [Pg.80]

The branched structure shown above was prepared in minute quantities by a multistep synthetic sequence passing through a polyketone and culminating in a polydiazo structure  [Pg.81]

This was followed by the photolysis of the diazo structure in 2-methyltetrahy-drofuran glass at 10 K [495], ESR signals obtained at this low temperature revealed the high-spin state of the branched polycarbene final product Until now only trifunctional branched polymer was prepared but we believe that, by using difunctional instead of monofunctional monomers, highly crosslinked aromatic networks containing carbene bridges may be prepared. [Pg.81]
