The milk producers in Brazil (and the chain as a whole) have received little attention from the responsible agencies for the national statistics. The last national rural census dates back to 1995. According to IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), the last census showed that Brazil had about 1 million of establishments involved in cattle and milk production.
