Boranes, dialkoxy oxidation

To prepare alcohols by the oxidation of alkyl boranes, borane, dibor-ane, alkyl and dialkyl boranes, and dialkoxy boranes are added to alkenes or alkynes. The addition takes place in the anti-Markovnikov mode because boron is more electrophilic than hydrogen.
