One other structure of a tricyclopentadienide has appeared (57) and it provides a further demonstration of the correlation between ionic size and coordination. Neodymium tris(methylcyclopentadienide) crystallizes as a tetramer (Fig. 10). The Nd + ion (which is slightly larger than Sm3+) is pentahapto bound to three cyclopentadienyl rings and monohapto bound to a fourth ring. This fourth ring is in turn j -bonded to another Nd + ion, until the tetramer is generated. The distances between tetramers are those expected for van der Waals contact. The crystal and molecular parameters are compared with the other tris cyclopentadienyl complexes in Table 5. [Pg.47]

Average bond length and angle parameters for the homoleptic tris(dithiolene) complexes are less sensitive to the identity of the transition metal or dithiolene ligand than those of bis(dithiolene) structures. Ranges of values are summarized in Fig. 22. Average M—S bond lengths cluster between 2.263 and 2.543 A, with values for two [Fe(mnt)3]2 units (2.263 and 2.269 A) (18), Co CAlCO),, 3... [Pg.87]

Fan and Ziegler [330] have recently refined the analysis of the origin of CD in tris-bidentate M(L)"+ complexes by analyzing in detail TDDFT ECD data for Co(en)3+. Here L is an aliphatic er-bonding ligand, such as the bidentate ligand ethylenedia-mine. The authors related s/h and parameters, traditionally used to describe the... [Pg.83]

One interesting reaction undergone by the tri(styryl)arsine complexes is the bromination of the C=C bond by bromine in CC14 (equation 217).1013 Similar behavior970 is exhibited by the few tertiary stibine complexes (Table 75) that have been isolated. Few physical properties of these complexes have been investigated, but the 121 Sb Mossbauer parameters for both rhodium(III) complexes and the free ligands have been determined.1016... [Pg.1031]
