The classic (if not classical) metal sandwich species bis(cyclopentadienyl)iron has the formula [(CH)5]2Fe (CpaFe) and the semisystematic name ferrocene, and so the related magnesium-containing species [(CHfsJaMg (CpaMg) is often accompanied by the name magnesocene.
