Bions

The stmcture of kernite consists of parallel infinite chains of the Bion (6) composed of six membered rings (80). The polymeric nature of the anion is consistent with the slow rate of dissolution and crystallisation observed for kernite.

Jensen discusses several unusual concepts, that of the somatid (Naessen s symbiont, a particle associated with lifelike qualities), the protit (a living protein particle), and the bion (a transitional form between nonliving and living matter). Mention is made of Naessen s 714X, which can be described as a camphor compound used against cancer however, it was conversely found to reduce the ability of natural killer cells to kill cancer cells in vitro. 

The symbol of a container was important to the psychoanalytic theory of Wilfred Bion (for a summary, see J. and N.Symington, The Clinical Thinking of Wilfred Bion, London and New York, Routledge, 1996, pp. 50-8). However, the way in which container is used in this instance has more in common with Winnicott s notion of a holding environment ...
