These factors lead to the formation of Si-enriched soils and alluvial deposits in river deltas with layers of secondary quartz and opal. 

We can see that the accumulation of both water soluble and amorphous silicon occurs in the upper 25 cm of soil profile, whereas the accumulation of carbonate is found up to 50 cm.
