Biodegradable Copolymers and Composites

It was noted above that polyurethanes are subject to biodegradation. This principle has been utilised in the development by Showa High 

Polymers of Bionolle which is reported to be a copolymer containing both ester and urethane groups. The environmental and commercial advantages of this material over conventional degradable polyesters has yet to be demonstrated.
