Biochemical characterization of cell death

A Gloves should be worn throughout this procedure, both to protect the worker 

Wash cells twice in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). 

Resuspend cell pellets at 2 x 10 mP in lysis buffer and incubate in a 50°C water-bath for 1 h. 

Extract the crude DNA preparations twice with an equal volume of phenol (retain the aqueous layer after each extraction).
