Binary signal

Data pickup A CD is a collection of binary data in a long, continuous spiral that runs from the inside edge to the outside. Nothing touches the information stored on the CD except laser light, which is reflected from the CD and read by the CD player computer as a binary signal. For tracer experiments periodic sequences of pseudo random binary signals (PRBS) can be used, which show good results after a shorter measuring period (Havlicek and Cermak, 1977 Unbehauen and Funk, 1974). A PRBS sequence consists of a stochastic series of rectangular tracer pulses (concentration c, time interval At). The sequences recur with a period T. Each period is divided into N time intervaUs T = N-At). 

Tactile touching sensors allow simple information from the environment to be recorded by touching the objects directly. In the simplest case, the sensor is a switch that sends a binary signal when set or not set. A variety of miniaturized switches are combined with line and matrix arrangements with integrated sensor data preprocessing to enable the creation of a tactile pattern recognition similar to the human sense of touch. 

Binary signals stem from relays, limit monitors, pushbuttons and switches. They can be processed directiy and be output to contacts, switches or lamps. All measuring values are cyclically scanned and checked before processing as to their validity. The following distinctions are made.
