When l-AAs are treated with Af-sulfonylaniline (PhNSO) and A-methyl-maleimide, cycloadducts are formed. The reaction is stereospecific, giving only one stereoisomer 92, whereas with esters of AAs a mixture of diastere-oisomers is formed (88T4941). [Pg.47]
