4 2-Benzothiozolon-3-yl Acetic Acid-telechelic Polyethylene Oxides (PEG Esters) 

In this study, a range of polymers based on PEG with molecular weight between 600 and 4000 were used. Table 5.2 lists average molar masses and polydispersivity indices obtained by MALDI-ToF-MS of PEG 600 and esters with 2-benzo thiazolon-3-yl acetic acid with PEG having a molecular weight between the above quoted limits. It is seen that the molecular-mass characteristics of the PEG estimated by SEC and MALDI-ToF-MS are very close and practically coincide.

Polymer characterisation combinations of SEC and MS have been applied to polymer characterisation studies on a wide range of polymers and copolymers, some examples of which are discussed next.
