Benzothiazole-based analogues

UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence emission of Troger base analogue 51 and its precursor 2-(4-amino-2-hydro-xyphenyl)benzothiazole were measured. In the UV-Vis spectra, all molar extinction coefficient values were in the order of 104lmol 1 cm as expected for 71-71 transitions. 

A number of benzothiazole-Schiff base complexes of the type (43) have been evaluated against Helminthosporium oryzae. Complex (43) and its zinc analogue were found to show enhanced activity relative to the free ligand.106 The activity was very dependent on the substituent in the benzothiazole ring.
