We have found, that benzbromaron inhibits the 3 -phospho-adenylylsulfat chondroitin-6-sulfotransferase, an enzyme which we have isolated from liver (3). This enzyme is competitively inhibited by benzbromaron (K. = 2 10" M (Figure 3) and the inhibition of sulfate incorporation into proteoglycans is probably due to this enzyme inhibition (Figure 4).
