Basalt carbonatized

Obviously models such as ours depend strongly on a wide range of poorly known parameters and debatable assumptions. It woifid not be fitting to claim any great certainty. To pick an example of how our models could fail, it could prove that Caldeira (1995) and Brady Ghs-lason (1997) are right, and carbonatization of oceanic basalt proceeds at rates that depend little if at all on the sea-water CO2 concentration. Readers can probably provide their own examples.
