Barium selenites

Neal and McCrosky [38NEA/CRO] established the phase diagram of the system BaSe03-Se02-H20 at 273.15, 298.15, and 323.15 K by solubility measurement in the range 0 to about 70 mass-% Se02 in the liquid phase. The solids BaSeOs and BaSe205 were formed at all temperatures. [Pg.407]

Ripan and Vericeanu [68RIP/VER] studied the solubility of BaSeOaCs) by conductivity measurements as described in Appendix A. Hydrolysis can be neglected for Ba [76BAE/MES] and the original data, mean solubility value 7.92 x 10 M, were assumed to provide a measure of the solubility of BaSeO ,(s) in pure water. The equilibrium constant (solubility product) of the reaction  [Pg.407]

Leshchinskaya, Selivanova, and Strel tsov [63LES/SEL] measured the enthalpy change of the reaction between equimolar quantities of BaCl2-2H20(cr) and Na2Se03(aq, 1 1000) with formation of crystalline BaSe03. Their data have been reevaluated with new auxiliary data in Appendix A. The selected result is  [Pg.407]

Reference [82WAG/EVA] reports - 1040.6 kJ-mol. The major part of the difference between the two values is due to the change in the data for barium made in [92GRE/FUG]. The selected data further yield  [Pg.407]

In 1847 Sacc determined the atomic weight by several methods, of which only two proved of value, namely (i) pure selenium dioxide was reduced with ammonium hydrogen sulphite and the resulting selenium weighed (ii) barium selenite was calcined with sulphuric acid and the resulting barium sulphate weighed. The results were as follows 5... [Pg.303]

Barium chloride solution white precipitate of barium selenite, BaSe03, in neutral solution, soluble in dilute mineral acids. [Pg.520]
