Balancing with a gross error

A gross error was introduced to data. The original volume flow of Naphtha from node 101 to 102 was changed from 3082 to 3382 (error approx. 10%). The course of balancing is then following. [Pg.477]

After checking imbalances the following information window appears on [Pg.477]

It means that signiflcant balance difference (imbalance) was detected in node 102. The imbalance is caused by the gross error of measuring Naphtha flow. It is worthwhile to note that significant imbalance was not detected also in the node 101. This node has much bigger throughput than node 102 so that the gross error is not detected here. [Pg.477]

After that the program tries to identify the cause of the problem. The standardised adjustments are calculated (see Chapter 9, Equation 9.4.9). The Information about suspect streams appears in the screen. [Pg.478]
