Automatic packaging

Cones contain 0.6—4.0 kg of yam. The tip of the cone tube must have a smooth finish to prevent damage to the yam, which is drawn over the top. Again, a magazine wrap may be provided for automatic package transfer. Both compacted and twisted yams are packaged on cones. 

Coil boilers are available as fully automatic package units, typically ranging in size from 15 to 300 boiler hp (500 lb/hr-10,000 lb/hr). Most designs employ forced circulation and a single, continuous spiral, helical-wound coiled tube that hangs inside the furnace. The coil is subjected to intense heat release from a gas or oil burner.

Stacking systems can also be used with automatic packaging systems for bundling of parts for shipping.

Adhesives for Automatic Pacicaging Machines. In automatic packaging, package production, filling, and closing are often carried out in a single machine. For this reason, very fast setting adhesives are used. 

After cutting, the staple fibers fall into a funnel and are transported to the balling press. Fully automatic balling presses, operating several small fiber lines and enabling them to run a fully automatic packaging system, are now available.
