Attempted Biomimetic Synthesis of 5-Hydroxytiagabine

The hemins were synthesized by the methods of Traylor, Dolphin, and Tsuchiya. Condensation of the appropriate aldehydes (2,6-dichlorobenzaldehyde and pentafluoro-benzaldehyde, respectively) with pyrrole in the the presence of anhydrous zinc chloride in refluxing Intidine yielded the zinc complexes of the porphyrins after chromatographic [Pg.296]

Availability of larger amounts of metabolites would facilitate biochemical, pharmacological, and toxicological studies. Additional details of our work with metalloporphyrins are presented at the end of the chapter. [Pg.298]
