Astral light

Watson, Michael. The Astral Light, the Prime Material and the Universal Mercury. Hermetic J, no. 11 (Spring 1981) 5-11. 

Levi named this wonder-working phenomenon Astral Light. By these occult visionary means, also standard features in early twentieth-century avant-garde theoretical writings. 

This Universal Agent is the Od Do of the Hebrews and of Chevalier de Reichembach, the Astral Light of the Martinists. The use and manipulation of this force constitutes the Grand Arcanum of Practical Magic.

This divine Prime-Light descends out of the regions of the Ultra-Heavenly into the Heaven, that means into the Kingdom of the Constellations, where it turns into the Light of Nature (Astral-Light), into the World-Soul. 

Two of these Worlds are considered to be non-existent by the Wise of the World. In spite of this, they do exist and they are highly real for every mystic with experience. The existence of the astral world can be proven through the dream-world the existence of the dream-world cannot be denied. The pictures of the dream-sphere shine in their own light, the so-called Astral-Light. The mystics and quabbalists refer to it as the "Light of Nature. It is said, however, that dreams are shadows. This may be true in a certain respect, however where there is a shadow, there must also be a Light that produces and brings forth this shadow. 

Ether, which the occultist terms astral light, determines the constitution of bodies. Hardness and softness, solidity and liquidity, all depend on the relative proportion of ethereal and ponderable matter of which they are composed. 

Being a point source of consciousness, energy, light, and love. Astral travel and other PSI phenomena. Fusion with other entities in time. Functioning in the path mental center in the head. 

This astral, Central-Salt of the Earth, wherein at the same time rests our Sulphur and Mercurius, we must, out of the crude compact darkness of the Earth with the Elementwater, wherein the Upper Light is, soften, lixiviate (leach) out and extract. 

The whole hermetic work occurs in all three Worlds. The first work of dissolution, which ends with blackness, takes place in the lower, dark world. The second work of cleansing, which ends with whiteness, takes place in the so-called Astral (or Middle-world), and the third work of unification of Spirit and Soul takes place in the born-again Spirit-Body in the heavenly Light-World, the so-called mundus archetypus. 

On the head of the incorporated healer we see four rays of light. The lower ones belong to consciousness and the ones above to subconsciousness. The small waves that surround the head are vibrations of the senses that flow along the spinal cord. The brains are represented further up as an astral nucleus. The waves emanating from his hands are the power he receives from the purge of the ayahuasca.
