Based on periodic relationships and data in Table 22.4, what values would you expect for these properties ... 

The At" ion is produced by reduction with S02 or zinc but not ferrous ion (which gives some indication of the oxidation potential of At-). This ion is carried down in Agl or Til precipitates. Bromine and, to some extent, ferric ion oxidizes it to what appears to be AtO- or HAtO. HCIO or hot S20 -oxidize it to an anion carried by 10 and therefore probably AtO J. Astatine is also carried when [lpy2]+ salts are isolated, indicating that [Atpy2]+ can exist. In 0.1M acid, the potentials appear to be ...
