The drugs most often reported in horses by the Association of Official Racing Chemists for the years 1959, 1969, and 1979 are presented in Table 3. The most striking trend is the increasing use of antiinflammatory drugs throughout this period.

Not to mention the 96 members of the Association of Official Racing Chemists (1947), who analyze the urine and saKva of thoroughbreds at American racetracks to guard against the unauthorized use of drugs (IB, Pair et al, 1978,1, 408).
