Assessing the Need for Information

With 40 percent or more of a company s cost possibly being consumed by information processors, reviewing information needs along the supply chain can pay handsome dividends. Table 30.1 outlines a method for assessing what information is needed and what can be done away with. The purpose is to identify gaps and excesses.
