Applications of Pyrosequencing

Hybridisation of matching strands of ssDNA is the underlying prinoiple of DNA arrays. Modern array platforms, such as that developed by Affymetrix Corp., are extremely miniaturised and allow massively parallel analysis for DNA sequencing and comparative studies of DNA samples. [Pg.141]

Pyrosequenoing uses the specific molecular recognition of base pairs. This is oombined with a cascade of enzymatic reactions yielding in a chemiluminescent signal. The method allows fully automated sequencing of short stretches of DNA mainly for SNP analysis. [Pg.141]
