Application of ILDM Methods in Reaction Diffusion Systems

3 Application of ILDM Methods in Reaction Diffusion Systems [Pg.251]

One such approach is the reaction—dijfusion manifold (REDIM) method. Using the notation of Bykov and Maas (2007a), the evolution equation for the scalar field of a reacting flow is given by [Pg.252]

The assumption that an invariant slow manifold of low dimension exists in the state space yields [Pg.252]

Once the manifold has been identified, the governing equation for the scalar field of the reacting flow can be projected onto the manifold (Bykov and Maas 2007b, 2009a, b Maas and Bykov 2011)  [Pg.252]

The REDIM method has been applied to systems with complex transport models (Maas and Bykov 2011). Its concepts have some similarities to the strategies used in [Pg.252]
