Apigenin 7-glucoside

The flavonoids, luteolin, luteolin 7-0-/3-d-xyloside and cynaroside, were isolated by El-Moghazi et al. (1979) and orientin and vitexin by Akunzemann and Herrmann (1977). Quercetin-3-glucuronide, rutin, isoorientin, isovitexin and apigenin-7-glucoside have been reported from aniseed (Ozguven, 2000). Figure 18.2 depicts the structure of flavonoids in aniseed. 

Blood and urinary concentrations of the flavonoids apigenin, apigenin-7-glucoside, and hemiarin were measured in one patient after a single oral dose of 40 mL of a aqueous/ethanolic chamomile extract (Tschiersch and Holzl J, 1993). 

Previously, from the same plant apigenin 7-glucoside (19) and vicenin-2 (44) were isolated [99]. From B. saxatilis subsp. saxatilis ladanein (130), kaempfero 1-3,7,4 -trimethyl ether (150), quercetin-3,7,3 ,4 -tetramethyl ether (206) have been isolated [100],... 

In addition, the phenolic acid derivatives include chlorogenic acid, caffeoylglucose and verbascoside. The flavonol rutin and the flavones luteolin 7-glucoside and apigenin 7-glucoside have also been reported. 

Carrots can accumulate, in response to fungal infection, the coumarins 6-methoxymellein and scopoletin alongside several p-hydroxybenzoic acid derivatives [46], In carrot leaves, apigenin 7-glucoside and luteolin 7-glucoside have been detected [47].
