Antituberculostatic activity

Thiosemicarbazones of starch dialdehyde and thiosemicarbazones and condensation products of starch dialdehyde with isoniazid were evaluated for their antituberculostatic activity, and showed positive effects with mice that were intravenously infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 613-614-617-2627-2629 These results were contradicted by other authors615,616 who showed acceleration of M. tuberculosis growth in vitro in contact with starch dialdehyde thiosemicar-bazone. A potential application of this compound was suggested in tuberculosis taxonomy. [Pg.288]

Thiadiazines are biologically very active compounds. Many l,3,4-thiadiazine-2-yl-amine derivatives 356 are important matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors <2002EPP1191024, 2001JME3231>. 2-/r t/-Butylamino-5,6-diphenyl-677-1,3,4-thiadiazine 357 <2006UP3> shows antituberculostatic activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis with an inhibition of 96% at a concentration of 12.5 pgmP. ... [Pg.448]
