Antigens for Polyclonal Antibodies

The purified enzyme (25-70 jjig) revealed as a single protein band with the location of the enzyme activity corresponding to the location of the protein band on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, suggesting that the enzyme preparations are homogeneous in terms of size and charge (Wu, 1982, 1983). 

The purified mouse brain GAD and GABA-T preparations appeared to be homogeneous in size under various conditions as judged from the linear plot of the logarithm of concentrations (c) against the squares of the distances (r) from the center of rotation of points of interest in high-speed sedimentation equihbrium runs 

6-25% or 6-10% gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the purified GAD from catfish or rat brain migrated as a single protein band with comigrating enzyme activity (Su et al, 1979 Wu, 1983 Denner and Wu, 1984). 

The purified clathrm migrated as a single protein band on SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Furthermore, a single, symmetric peak was obtained when the gel was traced with a densitometer (Garbern and Wu, 1981)
