Annealing studies

Not many organometallic systems have been subjected to extensive thermal annealing studies— the most thorough work has been done on the phenylarsenic compounds. The earliest such study was that of Maddock and Sutin on triphenylarsine. The results are in part given in Fig. 1, from which it was concluded that the reformation progresses in the stepwise fashion ... 

Results of a recent annealing study on neutron-irradiated dimeric [CpFe(CO)2]2 are given in Fig. 7. The strong effect on the Fe(CO)j is in keeping with the Cr(CO)e results mentioned above. Activation energies have been studied in the case of solid ionic compounds, where the target compounds and their side products are somewhat more stable and easier to handle. No measurements of activation energies have as yet been made on organometallic compounds, and unfortunately, very few annealing studies have been done. 

Finally, annealing studies have shown that chemical reaction at the crystal surface is possible, changing both the crystal surface and the molecular chain [82], In addition, PET samples have been shown to undergo ester-interchange reactions at temperatures above 200 °C, with the rate of reaction becoming relatively high only at temperatures above 225 °C [83],...

A number of NMR investigations of alamethicin in SDS micelles and in methanol or aqueous methanol solution have been conducted concerning the conformation of the monomers.
