Anion structures pentanuclear complexes

However, when the transmetalation was carried out at reOux temperature in wet solvent with access to air, the pentanuclear complexes [Cu5(L )2(dmt)2][C10J3 (70),and[Cuj(L )2(dmt)2][C104]3 (71), (dmt = 3,5-dimethyl-l,2,4-triazolate anion) were obtained. The structures of these complexes were confirmed by an X-ray diffraction analysis of complex 71 (Fig. 11) [44], Separate experiments established... [Pg.195]

Three types of pentanuclear cyanide-bridged complexes were described, namely, TBPs, cross-shaped clusters, and open chains. As shown by the Dunbar group (173-177), the TBP architecture is amenable to a wide variety of transition metal ions. In fact, neutral complexes of the general formula [M tmphen)2]3[M CN)6]2 were prepared with 22 different combinations of metal ions (Table V). In these structures (Fig. 34), two [M (CN)6] anions occupy the axial positions of the TBP core. Three cyanide ligands of each hexacyanometalate unit act as bridges, whereas... [Pg.209]

Fe4N(CO)i2] and [Fe5N(CO)i4]" (90). After 1 hour at 130 C the tetranuclear cluster is isolated in 3.3% yield, while the pentanuclear species, which forms after longer reaction times (2 hours) at a slightly higher temperature (145 C), is produced in 66% yield. This anion could be protonated and the structure of HFesN(CO)i4 is shown in 22. It was noted that below 130°C a nitrosyl complex was formed. [Pg.64]
