Aniba duckei

Nicotine has been found in Anthoceris tasmanica (Solanaceae). Anibine (36) and a new alkaloid duckein are found in the trunk wood of Aniba duckei (Lauraceae). The latter is formulated as (37) on mass and n.m.r. spectral evidence. [Pg.62]

The South American rosewood, Aniba duckei Kostermans and Aniba rosaodora Ducke, family Lauraceae, contains an alkaloid, anibine, C11H9NO3 (mp 179°-180° picrate, mp 199°-201° hydrochloride, mp 205°-230° decomp. methiodide, mp 233°-236°) shown to have structure CXXXIV [192). Saponification of anibine with potassium hydroxide... [Pg.496]

Anibine (55) and duckein (56), from Aniba duckei (Laur-aceae), are components of commercial rosewood oil (Fig. 28.22). These compounds appear to be derived by extension of a nicotinoyl precursor by two or three acetate units, respectively (Strunz and Findlay, 1985). [Pg.528]

Occurs in Coto rind (Nectandra coto). Also from wood of Aniba duckei. Yellowish cryst. (H2O). Mp 130-131°. Reduces Fehling s soln. and NH3.AgN03 slowly in the cold. [Pg.428]
