Analysis of water transport through MPL

Owej an et al. (2010) analyzed the water vapor flux though the MPL as the water vapor flux caused by the saturation pressure gradient in a porous layer as a function of temperature. 

The water vapor flux by the gradient of the saturation pressure at the two sides of an MPL is expressed as  

This shows the water vapor flux relative to the water production rate. When the value is greater than unity, all of the produced water can be transported through the MPL in vapor form.
