Pefloxacin Amikacin

The efficacy and safety of pefloxacin, 15-20 mg/kg bd for 14—28 days in combination with ceftazidime and amikacin, have been investigated in 21 children (aged 7-16 years) with mncoviscidosis or aplastic anemia (2). Combined therapy had good chnical efficacy. Arthropathy developed freqnently and children at risk were over 10 years old and had a history of allergies. 

Noninterfering acyclovir, amikacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin, tobramycin... 

Aminoglycosides such as capreomycin, viomycin, kana-mycin and amikacin and the newer quinolones (e.g. pefloxacin, ofloxacin and ciprofloxacin) were only used in drug resistance situations. Tuberculosis in particular experienced a resurgence. In the mid-1980s, the worldwide decline in tuberculosis cases levelled off and then began to rise. 

A study found that a single 100-mg intravenous dose of tobramycin had no effect on the pharmacokinetics of pefloxacin, and pefloxacin did not affect the pharmacokinetics of tobramycin. Similarly no pharmacokinetic interaction was found between pefloxacin and amikacin. ...
