Amides of Zinc, Cadmium and Mercury

In the 1980 edition of this chapter, the total number of amido derivatives of all types for the group 12 metals was less than 200 characterized compounds. These were described in ca. 90 papers in the primary literature. Detailed structural knowledge of these compounds was

Formation of the 1 1 complexes with zinc and cadmium has been studied in aqueous solution, and the complexes are more stable than the corresponding 1 1 adducts with bipy 245). Ternary mercury(II)-hydroxo-terpy complexes are active catalysts for hydrolysis of esters and amides 477).
