Xu W, Brauer J, Szulczewski G, Driver MS, Caraso AN (2009) Electronic, magnetic, and physical structure of cobalt deposited on aluminum tris(8-hydroxy qunioline). Appl Phys Lett 94 233302... [Pg.300]

The physical and chemical properties of the tetrahydroborates show more contrasts than the salts of nearly any other anion. The alkali metal salts are the most stable. In dry air, NaBH4 is stable at 300°C and in vacuo to 400°C with only partial decomposition. In contrast, several tetrahydroborates, including the titanium, thallium, gallium, copper, and silver salts, are unstable at or slightly above ambient temperatures. The chemical and physical properties of the tetrahydroborates are closely related to molecular structure. Sodium tetrahydroborate, which is typical of the alkali metal tetrahydroborates except for the lithium salt, has a face-centered cubic (fee) crystal lattice which is essentially ionic and contains the tetrahedral [BHJ- anion. The tetrahydroborates of the polyvalent metals are in many cases the most volatile derivatives of these metals known. Aluminum tris(tetrahydroborate)... [Pg.239]

ATPH (Scheme 2-5). Aluminum tris(2,6-di-/er/-butyI-4-methylphenoxide) (ATD) [15, 16] was first reported by Barron and co-workers. They exploited a two-step synthesis of ATD starting from LiAlH4 as an aluminum source. Apparently the structural modification of aluminum aryloxides that leads to numerous variants offers real advantages over conventional Lewis acids regarding preparation and handling. [Pg.39]

Using a similar approach to forming synthetic capsules, other structures have been designed that utilize attractive interactions between the host and the guest, other than van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonding. One example is the formation of a capsule (56) from two equivalents of bowl-shaped Lewis acid precursor, aluminum tris(2.6-di-phenylphenoxide) (ATPH) 55, with a guest such as 1,4-cyclohexanedione (Scheme 4-14)... [Pg.125]

Equation (3) shows that when tri(2-pyridyl)phosphane 9 [44] is treated directly with trimethyl aluminum in diethyl ether the adduct complex Me3Al(/r-Py)PPy2 10 is obtained which has structurally been characterised,... [Pg.93]

Yu et al. synthesized two methyl-substituted Alq3, named tris(2,3-dimethyl-8-hydroxy-quinoline) aluminum complex (Alm23q3, 237) (Scheme 3.72) [264]. This compound emits blue color with an emission peak centered at 470 nm and FWHM of 90 nm. OLEDs with a structure of ITO/TPD/Alm23q3/Mg Ag emit blue light and the luminous efficiency is 0.62 lm/W with a maximum luminance of 5400 cd/m2 at 19 V. [Pg.364]
