Alkyl chains/units

Orthorhombic crystals obtained from the preparations stabilized with the detergent decyl maltoside diffracted X-rays up to a maximum resolution of 2.3 resolution from non-frozen crystals (Yoshikawa et ah, 1998). No commercially available detergent other than decyl maltoside has been found that will produce orthorhombic crystals. Even dodecyl maltoside, only two alkyl chain units longer than decyl maltoside, did not produce crystals even though the detergent stabilizes the enzyme effectively. It should...

Dendrons 21-23 are easily prepared on a multi-gram scale and are highly soluble in common organic solvents thanks to the presence of the four long alkyl chains per peripheral fullerene unit. Therefore, they appear to be good candidates for the preparation of fullerene-rich macromolecules, for example, as shown by their attachment to a phenanthroline diol derivative and the preparation of the corresponding copper(I) complexes (see below).

Dobanol Ethoxy late [443], At least 16 Triton units with mass 910 were observed. A study of the reactions of amines and amine derivatives with scC02 using cSFC-MS was also reported [448], Both cSFC-APCI-MS and cSFC-ESI-MS of PEG 600 and PPG 425 were described [416]. Direct insertion probe (DIP) methodology was used for the structure analysis of the antistatic agent V,fV-bis-(2-hydroxyethyl)alkylamine. When analysed by SFC-MS coupling, the same sample could be separated into six components. The alkyl chains consist of saturated Cn, Ci4, C16 and C18 chains and of Cig chains with one double bond where 18 1 and 16 0 chains dominate. 

These results confirm that the tendency for an alternating arrangement of the comonomer units increases with the length of alkyl chains at the tin atom.
