Alkenyl Radicals Bearing Stabilizing Groups on the Carbon Radical Center

ALKENYL RADICALS BEARING STABILIZING GROUPS ON THE CARBON RADICAL CENTER [Pg.151]

This section will be devoted to cyclization of alkenyl radicals [Pg.151]

These cyclization processes have been extensively studied because of the above mechanistic problems and, also for their possible use in synthesis. Indeed, under proper experimental conditions, the yields of cyclized products may be excellent. Furthermore, generation of the initial radical A is generally easy. [Pg.151]

This may be ascribed to the possibility of generating the radical selectively, e.g., by hydrogen atom abstraction, because of the stabilized nature of the generated radical. [Pg.152]

Under kinetic control conditions, the behavior of the H2C=CH(CH2)3CXY radical seems to parallel the behavior of the 5-hexenyl radical (X = Y = H), [Pg.152]
