Air quality forecasting

In summary, notwithstanding the need to always assess PM modelling uncertainties PM air quality models are widely applied in Europe for various purposes, such as to help decision makers on the development of policies and air quality management systems for protection of ecosystems and human health or for air quality forecast, and consequently human exposure and health effects prevention. [Pg.263]

An interface between the NWP and ACT models was built. Through this interface necessary information is extracted from the HIRLAM output, and then it is used by the ACT model. A comprehensive script system had been built to couple both models together in order to produce air quality forecasts. [Pg.170]

The model system is developed to simulate aerosols and gas-phase compounds from regional to urban scale of ground-level gas-phase air pollutants. It has been used for air quality forecasts of ground-level gas-phase air pollutants and modelling of historical data. [Pg.171]

We are now also developing a one-way nested global-regional air quality forecasting (AQF) model system with full chemistry based on the CHASER (Sudo et al. 2002a) and WRF/Chem (Grell et al. 2005). Here, description and evaluation of model system are briefly given. [Pg.190]

Most of HIRLAM-member institutes are using national HIRLAM NWP outputs as meteo-drivers for their ACTP modelling and air quality forecasting activities. They have already attempted to build off-line integrations of HIRLAM with their own ACTMs (CAC, Chimere, DERMA, EMEP, MATCH, SILAM). [Pg.216]
