Trisiloxane surfactants have been used as adjuvants in agriculture. They increase the foliar uptake of pesticides, due to reduction of surface tension and superspreading. A method for improving the performance of agricultural compositions under conditions of low humidity has been developed, by using silicone surfactants that reduce the surface tension to less than 30 mN/m in 0.10% (w/w) aqueous solution, without concomitant spreading of the spray solution [60]. 

The importance of polymer composites arises largely from the fact that such low density materials can have unusually high elastic modulus and tensile strength. Polymers have extensive applications in various fields of industry and agriculture. They are used as constructional materials or protective coatings. Exploitation of polymers is of special importance for products that may be exposed to the radiation or temperature, since the use of polymers make it possible to decrease the consumption of expensive (and, sometimes, deficient) metals and alloys, and to extent the lifetime of the whole product.

Sodium Metaborate Tetrahydrate and Dihydrate, The sodium metaborates are components in textile finishing, sizing and scouring compositions, adhesives, and detergents. They are also used in many photographic apphcations. In agriculture they are used in both herbicides and fertilizer sprays. The dihydrate is less affected by heat. 

Chemistry and Environmental Impact. Lindane is produced by the photocataly2ed addition of chlorine to ben2ene to give a mixture of isomers. The active y-HCH isomer can be preferentially extracted and purified. Composition of the technical-grade product is a (65—70%), B (7—10%), y (14—15%), 5 (7%), and S (1—2%). Lindane has been produced worldwide for its use as an insecticide and for other minor uses in veterinary, agricultural, and medical products.
