Adhesiveness index

The above results suggest a potential for utilizing surface fluorinated plastics for modified atmosphere and vacuum packaging applications. If needed, the barrier properties can be improved further by vacuum metalization. Excellent adhesion was found for vacuum-deposited aluminum on this new fluorinated layer, achieving an adhesion index of 10 using the classical cross-hatch method. With this treatment method it was also possible to heat-seal PP or PE onto PET. 

By plotting the percentage of carbon particles separated from the vulcanizate versus the stress applied to the sample during extension, Hess et al. determined the stress at which the arbitrary quantity of 20% of the black had been separated from the matrix. This stress was indicated as the adhesion index. It appears (Fig. 12) that blacks of higher structures are associated with an increase of the adhesion index, i.e., with an enhancement of filler-elastomer interactions. 

It appears from the evolution of the adhesion index that a distinction has to be made between the interactions carbon blacks are able to have with unsaturated or with saturated (or near-to-saturated) elastomers. Thus, the adhesion index of butyl rubber is enhanced upon oxidation of the black, while the reverse is observed with polybutadiene 38). The improvement of the reinforcing ability of carbon black upon oxidation, in the former case, has been interpreted by Gessler 401 as due to chemical interactions of butyl rubber with active functional groups on the solid surface. Gessler, relating the reinforcing characteristics of the oxidized carbon black for butyl rubber to the presence of carboxyl groups on the surface of the filler, postulated a cationic... 

Documented effects In experiments on animals, the total saponins isolated from the roots and the preparation Zongorozid caused a significant decrease in arterial pressure, increased resistance to hypoxia, and had sedative effects. In experiments with dogs, the preparation Zongorozid increased the sodium in erythrocytes and reduced potassium in blood plasma as well as in erythrocytes. A one time dose of the preparation has blood coagulating effects but multiple applications, over 5-7 days, have better effects. The effects include an increase in tolerance to heparin, reduction of prothrombin time and fibrinolytic activity, increase in fibrinogen content (up to 45 %), and an iuCTease of the adhesion index with an increase in blood coagulation potential (Alimbaeva et al. 1986).

The adhesiveness of masa can be rapidly evaluated with a mechanical stickiness device consisting of two rectangular bars in a parallel arrangement. A block of masa is formed between the bars and partially split with a cutter, and the adhesiveness is measured by raising the movable bar until the masa detaches from it. The degree of adhesion of masa to the upper bar gives an adhesiveness index (Ramirez-Wong et al. 1993).
