Adhesion Processes in Electrophotography

Electrography is an essentially new principle for the reproduction of images, being based on electrical, electromagnetic, or other physical processes. An important branch of electrography in wide use is electrophotography. [Pg.322]

The resultant image may be transferred to paper (Fig, IX,4d) or to a base from which prints may subsequently be obtained. [Pg.322]

We shall try to consider the adhesive processes associated with the main processes of electrophotography on the basis of our earlier analysis of the causes of adhesion [429], [Pg.323]

Adhesion of the Developer to the Surface of the Carrier Particles. In the course of mixing the de- [Pg.323]

Let us denote the adhesive force between the developer and carrier particles by. In accordance with the earlier argument (see Chapter III)  [Pg.324]

Adhesion is widely used in industry and agriculture. For example, this phenomenon plays a major role in filtration, separation of dry materials, cleaning of surfaces, electrophotography, treatment of plants with pesticides, and many other processes. Adhesion is a major factor in processes taking place in nature. If there were no adhesion, dust settling on the ground would be continuously returned to the atmosphere by air currents, and the dust concentration in the atmosphere would reach vast proportions. One the other hand, soil... [Pg.444]
