Adenosine-5-triphosphoric acid

Although Fischer2 stated that D-glucosone is not fermented by yeast it has recently been reported157 to be fermented by yeast extracts fortified with adenosine-5-triphosphoric acid and codehydrogenase I. [Pg.81]

A triokinase, isolated from liver, phosphorylates both D-glycerose and DL-glycerose, at the same rate, in the presence of adenosine-5-triphosphoric acid (ATP), and phosphorylates dihydroxyacetone at approximately half the rate.77-78... [Pg.199]

In addition to the usual adenine nucleotides (such as adenosine 5-phosphate, adenosine 5-pyrophosphate, and adenosine 5-triphosphoric acid) present in bacterial extracts, several adenine nucleotides of uncertain structure have been reported. These substances, termed adenylyl peptides have been isolated from trichloroacetic acid extracts of Staphylococcus aureus ... [Pg.204]

It is reported that a purine-requiring mutant of Escherichia coli accumulated a substance related to 5-amino-iV-D-ribosyl-4-imidazolecarboxamide. Its ultraviolet absorption spectrum and its diazo chromogen spectrum differed from those of the known D-ribosyl derivative. Escherichia coli (strain B-96) converts it to 5-amino-4-imidazolecarboxamide, and it can be utilized by Escherichia coli B. It was suggested that it is an amino-(D-ribosyl)-imidazole. The accumulation of this substance was, however, somewhat surprising, since bacterial extracts of the purine-requiring mutant effected synthesis of 5-amino-4-imidazolecarboxamide from o-ribose 5-phosphate together with adenosine 5-triphosphoric acid and an energy source. [Pg.223]

In the synthesis, by bacterial extracts, of pantothenate from pantoate, /3-alanine, and adenosine 5-triphosphoric acid, an anhydride between adenosine 5-phosphate and pantoate participates. [Pg.230]

In a similar way, enzymes from Azotobacter vinelandii catalyze the transfer of phosphate from adenosine 5-triphosphoric acid and inosine 5-tri-phosphoric acid to the 2-deoxypentonucleoside monophosphates, with the formation of the pyrophosphates and triphosphates. ... [Pg.231]

D-Glucosamine 6-phosphate can be readily acetylated by a AT-acetylase obtained from a preparation of yeast hexokinase. The resulting iV-acetyl-D-glucosamine 6-phosphate is identified by its Morgan-Elson reaction. The acetyl-coenzyme A which appears to be required for this reaction may be generated by acetate, adenosine-5-triphosphoric acid, and coenzyme A (in the presence of an acetate-activating enzyme). [Pg.311]

Adenosine-5-triphosphoric acid, magnesium sulfate, and cysteine bring about L-glutamine formation from ammonium L-glutamate. However, significant hexosamine synthesis is not observed when these three substances are incubated with ammonium L-glutamate in the presence of a residue-free supernatant from crushed, bacterial cells. L-Glutamine stimu-... [Pg.317]
