Addition of Hydroxylamine to a,p-Unsaturated Acids

Hydroxylamine reacts with the double bond of unsaturated acids 84,151) such as acrylic acid (120), its esters (121) 152) or amide (122) 153) via the Michael addition, forming N-hydroxy-.yec-amino 

Addition of hydroxylamine to the double bond of fumaric acid was accelerated by aspartase but unstable N-hydroxyaspartic acid was not isolated (57,154).
